THE BALLAD OF LOVE
In a jewellery shop on Taunton Street
on the middle shelf’s end sits a lonely ruby sweet and deep blood red longing for a friend.
Donated to the jewellery shop noted “From me, just for you” is a sparkling, lovely sapphire of light and pretty blue.
Within the week, this gem was sold. The ruby began to weep.
It wept and wept through every night while the shop would sleep.
One day, a lady came asking primly for a gem. When offered the lonely ruby she scoffed, “I don’t want one of THEM.”
Said her daughter, “Mother,
might I not have it please?
I think it’s pretty,
won’t you buy it just for me?” Said her mother, “Oh, very well” and, calmly paying for the jewel, the ruby laughed, the daughter smiled; “if I don’t adopt it, who will?”
The ruby met the sapphire; their love was as pure as could be; pretty as a garnet,
as a pearl from the shimmering sea. by Thomas Bannister

MY BOXING DAY &
CHRISTMAS PRESENT:
On Boxing Day my Dad and my brother Ben went to the O2 concert. We stayed in the posh hotel for the weekend. We went to see Charlie Puth and Adam Lavine on Saturday night. It was lovely!
We drove to the train station; our stop was at St Andrews Gardens. I was a bit tired after the journey. First we dropped our suitcases and our bags at the hotel room, then we met Shane and Grandad Geoff there as well.
In the evening we went to the best Chinese restaurant and all had an early night. Next mooring we all woke up, got dressed, and
had breakfast. We went swimming and shopping all day.
In the evening we all had dinner in the hotel, then we travelled to the O2 concert. Charlie Puth and Adam Levine performed with all the cool songs – my favourite songs were by Marvin Gaye, sung by Charlie Puth, and “Locked Away” by Adam Levine.
I enjoyed my weekend at the O2 and the hotel. I was pleased to go! Thank you for reading about Boxing Day at the O2.

MR LEICESTER CITY
In the 3rd round in the FA Cup Leicester had Tottenham. Leicester was away at White Hart Lane. They drew 2:2 and now there will be a replay at King Power Stadium on Tuesday 19th January 2016 at 19.45. There is no reason why we can’t win and then play Colchester. We continue to be 2nd and results so far across the Premier League show we should be in Europe next year! What a great win against Spurs in the league. The fairy-tale continues !
We also have two Forest fans at Seniors. They told me that Matt Mills recently scored for Forest against Birmingham City in the Championship. Matt Mills used to play for Leicester City. We must be doing well if we are helping Forest out! Wouldn’t it be great if Leicester played Forest in the FA Cup!!!! :)
