DECEMBER 2015
A PRESCRIPTION
FOR HAPPINESS
Last month, my grandparents (Pam and Frank Gosling) celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary, marking 60 years of marriage. After meeting in Grans father’s chemist, Gran and Grandpa were married on the 19th October 1955, embarking on what has been and continues to be a happy and fulfilled life together.
After moving from Matlock some 52 years ago, Gran and Gramps set down roots here in Countesthorpe with their two young children Judith and Ian. Since then, the family has expanded with both
Judy and Ian living in Countesthorpe where they have brought up families of their own.
Aside from all their various community involvement including the WI, the Scout Gala, St George’s Society and Foston Church, Gran and Gramps cherish the time spent with their family as their family cherish the time spent with them. Still hosting every Christmas, Easter and special occasion, Gran cooks the most impressive Sunday dinner to feed the whole family of 12 whilst Grandpa always ensures that everyone is looked after (somehow achieving this without lifting a finger!).
They always take a keen interest in each of the goings on of their children and six grandchildren and would do anything for us, as we in turn would do anything for them- even if it does mean driving round to show them how to turn the television on!
They are the pet-sitters, the hosts, the taxi drivers, the-bird-trapped-in-the-house catchers and our biggest fans, but most of all they are the rocks of our family and we all love them both dearly.
Happy Diamond Wedding Anniversary Pam and Frank/ Mum and Dad/ Gran and Gramps; may we have many more happy times to come.

Georgia, who spent her first year working across three business areas – Facilities Management, Asset Management and Housing and Neighbourhoods has had the opportunity to get to know the business whilst following a Level 2 Business Administration Framework with Leicester College.
Chris Swaine, who manages the Academy said “ Georgia has thoroughly deserved this award and the recognition that comes with it. She has worked hard throughout the year both at work and with her college units. She always comes to work with a smile and there is no doubt that she is a valued member of not only the Academy team, but also every department that has worked in.”
He also added “Georgia will now start to fine tune her career as part of her second year by following a Level 3 CiH apprenticeship within emh group’s Housing and Neighbourhoods Team based at Grove Park.”
