FOSSE PARK PARTNERS WITH LOCAL CHARITY AGE UK LEICESTER SHIRE & RUTLAND
Local charity Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland has been selected as Fosse Park’s Charity of the Year for 2023/2024.
The partnership will see the two organisations working together on a number of fundraising events with the aim to raise over £10,000 throughout the partnership. These vital funds will aid Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland to provide invaluable support that will reduce loneliness and isolation in local older people.
In addition, the collaboration will raise awareness about the help and support that the charity already provides to thousands of local people through a variety of services including, befriending, benefits information and advice, carers support, dementia support to home warmth information and advice, digital support and much more.
Fosse Park Centre Manager, Adrian Young, said he was thrilled to support Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland. “Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland does important work in the region and provides an incredible range of services for people who really need the support.”
“As a centre, we pride ourselves on working with both local and national charities on a wide range of activities. We
hope that by adopting Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland as our chosen Charity of the Year, we will not only be raising much- needed funds for them but also helping to raise awareness of their valuable work.” Tony Donovan, Executive Director of Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland said “Working with Fosse Park is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the vital work that we provide in our communities, supporting local people, providing practical, and emotional support. The current Cost-of-Living crisis has seen a huge demand for our help, and we know that there are many more people out there still needing support, but they do not know who to turn to. This partnership will give our charity a great platform to be able to showcase what we do and reach more people in need. We are enormously grateful to Fosse Park for choosing our Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland as their charity partner.”
Throughout the year, Fosse Park will be hosting fundraising events and activities as well as highlighting the information, advice and support services available from Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland.
