RETIRES AFTER 29 YEARS
Carlton Stephenson Carpenter has run CS Carpenter Property Repairs for the past 29 years, later changing the name to C.S. Carpenter Ltd.
Carlton sent the following message when thanking the Herald for our support over the years.
“I would like to say to all the customers and suppliers over the last 29 years thank you very much for your support, I have enjoyed every minute of it. I have met some great people who I hope will stop and say hello if I see you in the village. As I think I am going to miss the banter and the laughs. As most of you will know Andrew my son in law worked for me, but sadly did not want to take over the business, but has started his own plumbing business. MR Plumbing & Bathrooms, and I wish him all the success I have had.
I thought I may have been able to carry on till I was 70, but my legs and other things force me to finish a bit early. If I can help anyone with any advice please do not hesitate to call me.”

CHARITY SUPPER & BINGO
In August a charity Fish and Chip supper was held in the Bridge to raise money for Christian Aid and St Andrew’s Church. After the supper, there was a charity raffle and a game of Bingo for those attending. Overall, it was a great night, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. By the end of the night, the event, organised by Shelley Schultka, had managed to
raise £316 for the charities. A huge thank you also goes to Countesthorpe Fish Bar and their staff for their fantastic food and participation in the event.
