GARDEN PARTY
Above is a picture of guests enjoying the ‘Garden Party’ on 6 August, inside the church because of the weather.
Nearly £600 was raised for church funds.
MESSY CHURCH
Messy Church has been having a break over the summer while the leaders and helpers take some well earned rest.
We have also been reviewing our programme and recruiting some new volunteers. However we are looking forward to starting back again, and hope that you are keen to come back too. The next session will be running on Saturday 21st October from 4.00 pm, and then on 18th November, with the usual fun activities and Christian message, and of course food! See you there!

OTHER FUND-RAISING
We are thankful for the £158 for church funds, which was half the proceeds of the Rainbow Shop Fish and Chip Supper.
ALTAR FRONTAL Photo: Anne Jelves
If you have been into St Andrew’s Church recently you may have noticed the new altar frontal, made by our banner group - Yvonne Bennett, Margaret Seville and Liz Swift.
The design shows the colours used for church furnishings in the four seasons of the Church’s year.
The year starts with Advent, at the end of November or beginning of December, a time of preparation for Christ’s coming at Christmas. The furnishings are purple for this season and also for the season of Lent, which is a time of self-searching and preparation for Easter. For Christmas and Easter and other important festivals, white or gold is used. For Pentecost (Whit Sunday) red is used to represent the tongues of fire; red is also used to represent the blood of the martyrs on some saints’ days; white is used on other saints’ days. For the time in between the furnishings are green, and this is known as ‘ordinary time’.
We are grateful to our talented ladies.
