SCOUTS SUCCEED IN
BORDERHIKE CHALLENGE!

Independently navigating themselves around 9 miles across open countryside, taking part in various challenges along the way, this was a huge achievement to complete the event – and all 3 of our teams competed well, with some brilliant results! Everyone camped out overnight in tents, as always enjoying a great campfire and wide games in the dark. Beavers joined 100 young people from across South Leicestershire at this year’s District Sleepover, enjoying parachute games, a walk in the countryside and lots of time to explore at Ullesthorpe Scout Campsite. A huge thank you to our team of volunteers who have made these

Our huge range of indoor and outdoor activities are back in full swing and we’re all looking forward to another year of Scouting fun. Preparations are well underway for our 7th Annual Pantomime, Aladdin, performing 3 shows this year at Sue Townsend on 9th and 10th December – which is promising to be another fantastic show! Tickets are on sale, priced at £9 for adults and £6 for Under 16’s – keep an eye on our Facebook page (www. facebook.com/countesthorpescoutgroup) for more details.
If you would like to join in the fun and learn Skills for Life with us, please contact
jack.barber@countesthorpescouts.org. uk to join our waiting lists. We can only continue to grow and offer our fantastic opportunities to so many young people while we have enough amazing adult volunteers to support this. If you could give up a little or a lot of your time to join our team, please get in touch on the same email address – we would love to welcome you. Anyone over 18 who is happy to have a DBS check can volunteer, no previous experience required, you don’t need to be able to help every week and full training and support is available. We are particularly looking for extra support for our Monday and Tuesday Cub Packs. Jack Barber
