OCTOBER 2015
£1,805 IS RAISED IN MEMORY OF BRIAN
We held our fifth Brian Fretter Golf Charity Day, for Motor Neurone Disease. Brian was a true Leicester sports fan. He played football, cricket, snooker and golf. He was born in Wigston and we lived most part of our married life in Countesthorpe. We moved to Norfolk to start a business. Brian continued to play golf until he was diagnosed with this terrible disease.
He deteriorated very quickly from being active to being wheelchair bound. After 18 months, he gave up the fight and died five years ago, aged 62.
My son Darren Fretter-Hall and myself have held a charity day every year in his memory and to raise money to help find a cure and this year we had our record year raising £1,805.00, the event being held at Costessey golf course in Norwich.
Many Leicester people came to support the day on August 7th, and once again the weather was wonderful.
We would like to thank everyone that has supported us for the last five years. We hope that one day a cure will be found. Sue Fretter, Norwich.

MARGARET WOOLEY INTERNATIONAL 80TH
I would just like to say a massive thank you to all my lovely friends from the U3A that joined me and my family at Countesthorpe Village Hall on Saturday 15th August, to celebrate not only my 80th Birthday but several other milestone birthday and anniversaries within my family. There were South Africans, Americans and Canadians visitors, plus family and friends from all corners of the British Isles. What a great weekend we all had.
Many, Many thanks for all my gifts and cards. I was completely overwhelmed.
EXHIBITION
Over the weekend of September 5th & 6th our friend Nicola Overton exhibited some of her work at Glebe Gardens Countesthorpe. It was well worth a visit, in our view and the coffee is always good.
