NEWS AND VIEWS FROM THE CHURCHES
OCTOBER 2015
CBC OPEN DAY
On August 29th we opened up the church and garden for the community to have a relaxing and fun time for all the family. We were certainly blessed with fine weather, for which we give thanks to God. On hand for the day were two bouncy castles, the ‘Big Daddy’ BBQ manned by Gary and a nail bar courtesy of Charlotte, shown in action below.
We had a balloon race overseen by myself. Below are a number of the balloon race contestants.
Then there was face painting brought to us from Mark, Street Graffiti in chalk with our resident in-house ‘Banksy’, AKA Reuben, a craft table with Danielle,
a double whammy of fair stalls with ping pong potty and the Freddie Frog challenge courtesy of Emma. And serving refreshments and keeping everyone present very happy and refreshed was Margaret.
To cap off a great day every child went away with their own goody bag courtesy of the Baptist Church. The whole reason for the occasion - just to be a blessing to the community. As Pastor I would just like to say a Big Thank You to everyone who made it happen and for all the hard work you all put in. Pastor Aubrey
BAPTISMS
July 26th at Countesthorpe Baptist Church was a wonderful day in the life of the church, especially for Mark and Charlotte, a recently married couple, who had both come to faith in Christ. As a result they both went through the waters of baptism in obedience to the Lord’s command to be baptised.
In adult baptism believers are publicly declaring and identifying themselves with Christ, declaring outwardly to a work of grace that has gone on inwardly; to their own death, burial and resurrection. On the day family members had travelled from South Wales especially for the occasion. A buffet lunch was provided for all after the baptismal service. Praise be to God!
