DECEMBER 2015
DECEMBER AROUND AND ABOUT THE VILLAGE
THE NEW COUNTESTHORPE HERALD 3
NIFFY RANGERS REUNION
Hi I appreciate that the printing of your next magazine is in late November and our event is early in December but we think it would be worth trying. Niffy Rangers is a Sunday league football team who started in Countesthorpe in the early 70s. The team is still playing to this day. It is, to our knowledge, the longest running Sunday league team for miles around. Neal Brett is and has always been for many years the driving force behind their regular Sunday matches. He has been through good and bad times, mainly good adding many trophies to the teams cabinet. So if you have had the pleasure of wearing the Niffy kit and would like to meet up with some of your old team mates and have a laugh. Join us for a beer or two at the Tom Thumb, Blaby 7.30 Friday 4th December. Please contact Chris Merry for more details 2782038.

Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30 start. You will be made very welcome and we look forward to seeing you there.
FAMILY CATCH UP
For me the best thing about Christmas is seeing so many family members enjoying ourselves and catching up on all the news. I do also enjoy the quiet after it all.
Dear Editor
With reference to the letter in the August Herald regarding the area where cremated remains are scattered. I would say that gravel is not the ideal material to absorb cremated remains. I would have thought an area of soil could be found at the cemetery to spread ashes as in previous years, allowing the ashes to disperse more quickly.
