8 THE NEW COUNTESTHORPE HERALD
ACTIVE ARTS
Our November workshop making Christmas Wreaths proved very rewarding-not only were there a variety of lovely wreaths adorning houses, our decoration of the porch at Foston Christmas Tree Festival featured a wide variety of wreaths and certainly kept up lively conversations among the visitors. Then immediately before Christmas a large crowd gathered in Glebe Gardens to join with Radio Leicester’s ‘Sing Christmas’ and we want to say a huge thank you to Bernard and his staff for hosting that evening.

FEBRUARY 2016
January Active Arts visitors to the village Hall - Ian McMillan and Luke Carver Goss
by Luke Carver Goss we are now looking forward to an evening with Blast From the Past. On Friday February 5th these dancers will be taking the audience in the Village Hall on a journey through the last sixty years with a short dance reflecting each year since 1952, when the recorded music charts began.
Late in February we can listen to the Helix Ensemble in St Andrews Church, when the concert will include Beethoven’s lively and melodic 4th Symphony and ‘Hommage to Mozart’ by Ibert. March opens with a return visit by comic twins Victor and Albert on Saturday 5th March, again in the Village Hall.
Just to remind everyone — entry is easier for you and us if you buy or reserve tickets through the hot line on 0753 1440 365, via e mail active.arts2010@gmail. com or if you contact Glebe Gardens in person or on 2771570, and tickets are £10, and £8 concessions, though for the Helix Ensemble concert tickets at £10 are on sale from St Andrews church office or from Active Arts.
Much attention is surely being directed to creations for the Annual Art Exhibition at Countesthorpe College on Saturday and Sunday, March 12th and 13th — please
do make sure your entry form is with us
