RIPENING INTO
ANOTHER BUSY
SEASON
Here at Whetstone Pastures we are busy getting ready for our 2016 fruit season having planted 6000 baby strawberries last month for NEXT year! We are hoping to have ripe strawberries by the second week of June but can’t be precise -it depends on the sun shining a bit more! Gooseberries and Blackcurrants follow after that and then raspberries by early July
This year all the raspberries are in pots of coconut compost We will be open as usual Tues - Sundays 10- 5.30 for Tearoom and Play barn. We are hosting more school groups this year and a very special MOTHERS UNION day on MONDAY 20th June.
New this season are Plants from Elizabeth Stone Gardens. A Family Fun Day is being held on Sun July 10th 11-4 in aid
of our charity EDS Support UK. Plenty of outdoor fun with fruit to pick of course! Our regular Knit pickers group meets every Thursday at the tea room also, supporting EDS. New comers always welcome! Sandra www.whetstonepasturesfarm.com

Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland are now recruiting Digital Champion Volunteers, small amounts of time make a huge difference.
With more and more services now digital by default we are holding events across Leicester Shire and Rutland to support people over the age of 50 using a variety of devices such as laptops, smart phones and tablets.
