THE NEW COUNTESTHORPE HERALD 7
‘Sparrowlegs.’ Now she has gone one step further and has produced a course for parents, carers and teachers called ‘The A-Z of Children’s Body Image’
If you would like the young around you to have a positive body image; If you would like them to accept themselves and others in the skin that they are in; If you would like to break the cycle of poor body image for the next generations; then this is the course for you....
The course is a journey through the alphabet covering topics from eating disorders to media literacy. This course is intended to support parents, carers, teachers and anybody else who spends time with the young, by teaching the aspects that can affect a young person’s body image and providing tools to support them. UPDATE ON HOSPITAL LANE FLOODING
I’m really pleased to inform constituents that Leicestershire County Council have committed to a long-term solution to the flooding issues affecting Hospital Lane in Blaby and that works will begin very soon.
As constituents will know, I recently wrote to the Chief Executive of the County Council to raise the very serious concerns of local residents about the flooding in this part of Blaby – as we all know, Hospital Lane is very busy and this flooding on the approach to a busy junction is a real safety hazard. Highways crews visited the site just a week or so ago to clear the existing blockage and to better understand the cause of the flooding – they believe that some old Network Rail drainage may be causing problems, so they will be carrying out some clearing and replacement works and creating a new ditch to help with any overflow, subject to the agreement of the private landowner where this drainage part sits.
This is good, positive news for constituents and all who use Hospital Lane, and I’m really grateful to the County Council for committing to finding the solution here, so I’ll continue to follow progress closely when the works begin soon.
