included the planting of over 1000 trees and significant progress has been made with the planting. This includes a wooded area, tree lined pathways and memorial trees. Wherever possible the Parish Council applies to free tree schemes. Here are some pictures of the new cemetery area. It’s early days yet, but hopefully you can appreciate what a beautiful place it will be when the trees become established.
THE CORONATION OF KING
CHARLES III - MAY 2023
The Parish Council is making preparations to hold a picnic on the park to mark the Coronation of King Charles III in May. The event is planned to be on the Centenary Paddock and an opportunity to enjoy other Countesthorpe residents’ company on the historical occasion.
COUNTESTHORPES OWN BRASS GROUP
Are you aware that you will now be required to provide photographic evidence if you wish to attend a polling station to vote? This can include a driving licence or a passport, however Blaby District Council will be producing a comprehensive list. For those people who do not have an item from the list, the District Council has set up a website portal at which you can apply for an ID form for you to take to the polling station. It is expected that the last day you can apply is five days before the date of the election which will take place on 4th May this year.
CHRISTMAS WREATHS
Please note all Christmas wreaths and other Christmas decorations will be removed from the cemetery during the first week of February.
