GREAT BIG DANCE OFF
A group of Countesthorpe Academy dance students recently competed in the Regional Heats for the Great Big Dance off, with Miss Mason, Mrs Rose and Miss Burley. Our students were fantastic from the moment that they stepped on to the bus to make the trip to the Albert Hall in Nottingham.
This year we took 4 groups: 2 groups from KS3, 1 from KS4 and a KS2 group from Thistly Meadow and Greenfield Primary School. Countesthorpe Academy HIVE A Level students, Alice and Libby, worked hard for weeks to support the Primary School students prepare for their performance. The students all looked fantastic in their costumes which were created by Mrs Ward and Mrs Miller.
All our students performed fantastically showcasing their hard work to the audience and the judges.

come to our Academy in Year 7.
Jess in Year 11 came to support this year group, and helped the students get show ready and calmed their nerves to

Our Year 9 dance class placed 2nd, meaning they qualified to the Secondary Grand National Finals in Cheltenham! This dance was choreographed by Alice in Year 13, of whom we are very proud! Alice has worked extremely hard during lunchtimes and after school to ensure that they perfected it to a high standard.
