AUGUST 2024
THE W.I. ARE MOVING
Countesthorpe Women’s Institute are relocating to The Village Hall on Station Road. President Barbara Talbot has announced the move following an influx of New Members. The move to The Village Hall will provide more space and on site parking. The move takes effect from Monday 12th August 2024 and every following 2nd Monday of the month thereafter.
Barbara would like to thank everyone at The Bridge for providing us with a room and for looking after us over the past two years. We look forward to many happy times and events in our new home. Anyone interested in joining the W.I. is most welcome to come along to our meetings.

We meet monthly at Braunstone West Social Centre, off Braunstone Lane, Leicester LE3 3FT from 2.00 till 4.00 on the second Saturday of the month.
Our meetings are planned for the year and

Our meeting in August is Shadow Embroidery, run by two of our members and in September, Lorraine Ellison, a member of Wymeswold Textile Group, will be telling us about her time spent in Peru and showing us her collection of textiles from the area.
Our subscription is £40 per year from 1st September, visitors £5 a meeting. Anyone is welcome to join us, whether you are a novice or more experienced, our aims are to encourage members to enjoy textiles in all forms and to learn new skills.

on customers - from regulars like the morning coffee gang to those who pop in to see if there are any different jigsaws or books, those who scan the rails hanging their size clothes and those who buy wholefoods and cards and bric a brac. This proud history is to be marked in September with a social afternoon to which all those involved currently or over the years are invited. Please see inside the shop for details nearer the time but an afternoon featuring refreshments talks about the shop itself as well as Christian Aid and lots of chatting with cheery music sounds just about what is needed!
