MISSING DOG BINS
The Parish Council is receiving calls with regard to Blaby District Council’s removal of the dog waste bins at locations throughout Countesthorpe, including the footpaths at Iona Way, Orchard Lane, Bassett Avenue and one on The Spinney. They have also removed two other bins that belong to the Parish Council, ie Rosebank Road and leading from Station Road to The Plantation. The Parish Council was not consulted on this, so are awaiting an explanation from BDC.
Blaby District Council has confirmed that they are currently looking into what has happened. It may be that there will be dog bins removed, but it is intended for a larger replacement to be supplied in a different position. Hopefully an explanation will be forthcoming.

 PLANNING APPLICATION
FOR BLABY GOLF COURSE
Cllrs Antony Moseley and Paul Hartshorn recently met with the planning officers from Blaby District Council to discuss the two applications affecting the golf course: 1. Application 24/0574/OUT: Proposal for 200 houses.
2. Application 23/0968/OUT: Proposal for 53 houses.
Please Note: These applications are entirely separate. The application for 53 houses is much further along in the process. Since it was always part of the plan, it’s likely to be accepted.
The application for 200 houses is still a long way from being reviewed by the committee. There are many unanswered questions that the officers have requested answers to, so it’s unlikely this will come before the planning committee this year. We must do all we can to oppose building on the golf course. Every voice counts! If you oppose the 200-house application, please sign the petition we have set up to present to the council. https://southleicestershirelibdems.co.uk/ home/save-blaby-golf-course/
Let’s make sure our voices are heard!
