worshipped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts - gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Friends, the year is 2024 AD, and we are 2,000 years on from the Christmas story which continued ......... For Jesus never remained in a cradle, he became a man, lived a perfect life for 33 years and went to the cross, to die for our sins. He became the one mediator between God and man and, to prove it, he rose again, conquering sin, death and the grave forever and offers the forgiveness of sins, peace with God and eternal life to all who believe!
This is God’s gift now unwrapped. To all people. Will you believe?
John 3:16: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

THANKSGIVING SERVICE
2025 will be a big year of transition in the life of the Church as we say farewell to our Pastor, who has served at Countesthorpe Baptist Church over the last twenty years. To mark this milestone of service and to give thanks for Pastor and his wife we will be holding a special thanksgiving service for their ministry amongst us and we wish to invite all those in Countesthorpe who may know them and have benefited from their ministry over the years to join us at the Church.
The date for your diary is
Saturday 7th December commencing at 2pm.
Be assured of a warm welcome.
CHRISTIAN LOVE
IN ACTION
Once again this year, Countesthorpe Baptist Church was able to support
the work of Blythswood Care which seeks to support the poor and marginalised in our own society with food banks, clothing stores and other services, but it also helps beyond our own shores into Eastern Europe with other charitable works like the Shoe Box appeal.
What’s unique about their approach is that they seek to make Jesus known through acts of kindness and this fact isn’t hidden as they work through local church agencies on the ground. The Shoe Boxes are made up for children, families and the elderly, who have so little materially in some parts of Eastern Europe.
It seems such an inexpensive and insignificant act to many, but I’m heartened by the teaching of Jesus who said, Matthew 25:35-36: ‘For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me’.
I hope as we approach Christmas you will consider little acts of kindness to make all the difference around you and ponder the greatest act of kindness of all in God sending His Son as the Saviour to all who will believe.
Why not come and find out more this Christmas at our Christmas services. You will be most welcome. Aubrey Vaughan
